Pixel apps stuck downloading

I saw this solution on another thread and it worked: 1) clear cache on Google Play SERVICES. 2) clear cache and storage on Google Play STORE. 3) force stop the play store. 4) re-launch the play store, update the stuck app (Chrome for me) and it should complete.
